MBBS Admission Guidelines

Candidates are required to fulfill the following conditions:

• Should have passed the applicable MDCAT examination conducted by the Pakistan Medical & Dental Council.
• Have passed a Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) or Equivalent 12th Grade Qualification with minimum 65% marks.
• With GCE Cambridge/London, ‘Advanced level’ (A level), American High School Diploma, and other equivalent Certificates or Diplomas, an equivalence to HSSC (Pre-Medical) will be required from IBCC.
• As updated in PMDC regulation dated 13th July 2023 it will be necessary for candidates to pass the mandatory subjects of biology and chemistry. The student may opt to qualify either physics or mathematics in the examination of the Higher Secondary School Certificate or an equivalent 12th grade qualification recognized in Pakistan

Applicants are required to apply online through an online portal link.

1. 01All candidates must qualify a mandatory Admission Test and Interview to determine their suitability and aptitude for the medical education. Non qualification of this test or interview will render the candidates disqualified for Provisional Merit List.
2. 02After the test/ interview Merit shall be determined as per PM&DC regulations.
3. 03Applicants who are applying based on A Level/ Foreign qualification are required to get the equivalence from IBCC and enter equivalent marks in online form.
4. 04It is mandatory for all eligible candidates to apply separately for MBBS & BDS through the online portal.
5. 05The application fee of Rs. 2000/- per program is mandatory and is not refundable. (Mode of Payment is given in the Online form)
6. 06Pakistan Medical & Dental Council has reserved separate seats for Foreign/Overseas candidates. Interested candidates would also be required to follow the same procedure. Provided further that the mandatory requirement of MDCAT shall not apply to students seeking admission on a special program seat predefined exclusively for foreign students and on the seats reserved for overseas Pakistanis. Such students shall qualify SAT-Il with a minimum score of 550 in each subject or a foreign MCAT examination or UCAT examination with 50% marks in the above-mentioned subjects.
7. 07Foreign students/ overseas candidates would also be required to appear in the Superior Admission Test and Interview as is prescribed for all aspirants.

As updated in PMDC regulation dated 13th July 2023 “Pakistani student” means a student who is a Pakistani national and has completed F.Sc./HSSC or equivalent qualification in Pakistan.

The PM&DC has allocated 10% of seats for foreign students (non-expatriates) on a self- finance basis over and above. Such students may apply either through the Federal Government or directly to institutions facilitated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as communicated vide notification No.1-C-PM&DC/Notification/2024/740 dated 21st March 2025.

A Pakistani Citizen permanently resident in a foreign country, Green Card Holder, Iqama Holder, Maple Card Holder who has studied and passed Intermediate / FSc / HSSC 12th grade examination or equivalent from inside or outside Pakistan are eligible for admissions against 15% foreign seats (within seat allocation) as defined in Regulation (7) of Admission Regulation 2023, and communicated vide No. 1-CPM&DC/Notification/2024/741 dated 21st March 2025.

Before submitting applications, applicants must ensure that they have strictly complied with the instructions given in the online application form. It remains the responsibility of the applicant to apply according to the instructions. Students are expected to submit attested photocopies of documents along with the application and originals for the purpose of verification by the university at the time of Interview. If required, the university will check the authenticity of the documents submitted with the concerned school, college, board, or university as per prescribed procedure. All expenses shall be borne by the candidate concerned.

In accordance with Admission Regulations of The Superior University, all applicants will go through a specially designed test in the subjects of Biology, Chemistry, and English for this program.

Interview

The test will be followed by an interview with the aim of assessing their mental health and suitability to complete the MBBS and BDS course and pursue a career in health sciences. The panel would comprise medical experts, teachers, and psychologists.

Note: It is mandatory for each applicant to qualify for both the Test and the Interview.

Original transcripts, mark sheets, certificates to be brought for submission and attestation by the university.

Medical Physical Examination

The MBBS/ BDS programme is both physically and mentally demanding. Students admitted are required to undergo a comprehensive medical examination including laboratory investigations and chest X-ray, before they are allowed to join classes.

Immunization

Clinical experience carries a small personal risk of infection. In their own interest, and in the interest of patients and others, students must provide evidence of immunization against the following: COVID 19, Tuberculosis (BCG), Diphtheria, Poliomyelitis, Pertussis, Hepatitis B, Tetanus, Measles/Mumps (and Rubella for females).
