The MBBS programme at ANMDC

The Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery is a five-year degree followed by a supervised internship. At ANMDC the programme is delivered in clearly defined phases so that students always know what they are learning and why.

  1. 01

    Phase I — Basic sciences (years 1 and 2)

    Anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, community medicine and behavioural sciences are taught with dissection, laboratory sessions and problem-based tutorials. Basic science is introduced alongside its clinical relevance from the very first term.

  2. 02

    Phase II — Para-clinical (year 3)

    Pathology, pharmacology, microbiology, forensic medicine and toxicology, together with continued community medicine postings. Students begin interpreting real laboratory reports and case sheets.

  3. 03

    Phase III — Clinical (years 4 and 5)

    Medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, ophthalmology, ENT, orthopaedics, psychiatry, dermatology and emergency medicine, with ward work, outpatient clinics, theatre sessions and clinical case presentations.

Assessment

Each subject is assessed through written papers, practical and OSCE examinations, plus formative quizzes and a compulsory research project in the final year.

Eligibility

  • Intermediate (Pre-Medical) or equivalent qualification with the minimum marks notified for the session.
  • Valid entry test score as required by the admitting university and the regulatory council.
  • Age and domicile rules as notified for the relevant admission cycle.
